A good friend and I visited Rumbi Island Grill at 10365 South State Street in Sandy today — emphasis on this location, because I’ve had good experiences elsewhere. Sadly, this visit was like getting excited for a tropical vacation only to end up in a damp motel next to a construction site. First off, the food. Bland. Lukewarm. Food tasted fine but the lady taking are order was rude and acted like she didn’t want us there. I would understand if we were acting like bad customers, but we just walked in and waited for her patiently.
Ordered the pork tacos with jalapeño ranch and Rumbi rice…absolutely delicious! The service was great, perfect, and fast. The staff checked on us several times, and cleared our dishes so we could talk more comfortably! The best part is that all the sauce from the tacos drips onto the rice, making it even more yummy. The only negative was that the music inside was so loud we couldn’t hear each other very well, so we sat outside, and that worked great!
Nice people and service was good! Fries are a five, food is a 3.
