Let me set the scene: I'm a life-long mechanic with beat up hands and nails. My cuticles are usually split, painful and irritated from constant hand washing, chemical soaps and cold temperatures. I got a pedicure here and had the lady take off my old gel polish on my hands. The pedicure was fine but she had cut my toenails so short it hurt as she filed them. And then on my fingernails she filed the beds down too much that the white tips of them look odd and they keep splitting because they were made so thin. You can see it is thicker near the base of my nail where she didn’t file it as much. It’s going to take forever for it to grow back out and it feels like my nails have no protection.
