Hello. Well I'll tell you that my RPM on phillips has been a decent enough car care place for several years. Up to this point. However, recently not so much. Bobby said that my car needed a replacement battery after I had it towed to his shop on phillips. After a replacement battery was installed it ran for 1 half day then died. I had it towed,again to his shop. This time he says,"It's the alternator". So almost $500.00 later I get the car back. It ran for one day and died. Too many morons posting bad reviews because, well, because they are morons. This review pertains to the shop on Philips hwy and Ive nothing but good experiences with them...... Then again...I am not a moron. I understand one has to pay for the time to diagnose a problem, others do not understand this. Had bad noise coming from tires at higher speed and was diagnosed with worn tires, Quite simple really. They could have ripped me off and told me I had bad shocks or the axels needed to be replaced, but they are not dishonest. ... read more
DO NOT GO HERE. I never write reviews but I had such a bad experience here that I feel the need to warn everyone! 1st: The women that work up front are rude! Just all around bad attitude from the moment I walked in. 2nd: After paying $98 for a diagnostic test they told me my check engine light was on due to a bad coil that cost over $250 ( over priced). 3rd: After two weeks my check engine comes back on so I brought it back and they told me that I had a 3rd cylinder burnt valve and it would cost $1,600 to repair. Quick Oil Change – I took my 04 silverado to RPM for an oil change and it was fairly quick. The price for the oil change was around $30.00 which was'nt bad. The building was very clean and has a nice lobby to wait for your car. I take all my cars in to RPM for regular maintence and never have problems.
RPM in Fleming Island is a RIP OFF also!! – My truck stopped blowing cool from the air conditioner. The lady said it would take about an hour and a half to charge and diagnose it. They had it for about 15 minutes, said they completely charged it and it cost me $199.00. I got in the truck and it still was blowing hot. I went back inside and the guy behind the counter (very rude) said he would have them look at it again but that it would take a couple of more hours. A very bad experience – It was such a memorable experience! I dropped off my car for a service. The website mentions they offer a ride. I had also confirmed this multiple times over the phone. I drop my car, and the person drops me home. When I call and ask when they would pick me up the manager rudely says they dont pick up. Beyond highway robbery! – Cleanest, fanciest mechanic in the city and YOU are paying for it. This place is the biggest RIP OFF in Jacksonville. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Over $800 for brake repairs? $1200 to $1500 to fix my engine? I could have it completely rebuilt for that. I had a second opinion from another mechanic. He quoted $540 - $650 for the entire engine repair plus towing! Needless to say that mechanic got my business. I told him what RPM's was charging and he was incredulous!
