The view was stunning. During winter the deep mud that covers most of the track makes both the ascend and descend even more challenging. Would I do it again? Probably not...
One of the best view in Aotearoa!
A hard, constant uphill walk with stunning views at the top! Roughly 2 1/2 hours up to the viewpoint, an extra 30 mins to the summit, with a few water stops along the way. Left the parking lot at 5.30am to make it for sunrise and it was gorgeous. Pretty cold at the top so make sure you take warm clothes no matter the season.

Unfortunately the walk was closed due to "lambing season". This is wrong thinking for me, as it disappoints tourists. If the tourist walk on the track, that wouldn't disturb the lambs. I guess the private owner doesn't want it. Come on, change that.
