They convinced my friend to replace his 1year-old furnace with a heat pump, promising a full rebate($17500 gvmt total rebate plus group rebate$500) if he did it before the end of March. The owner rushed him to make decision quickly because installing in April would mean a $2,000 reduction in the rebate amount. My friend had a new furnace installed just a year ago but this company (Royal Vancouver Air Conditioning) convinced him to replace it with a heatpump. The owner told him that if he did it before the end of the March, he would get a full rebate and pay nothing. The owner and sales all assured that they would take care of the rebate application and he didn't need to worry about the rebate at all.
