The Most Amazing Cafe – Royal/T is not a cafe it's an event. During it's most quite moments Royal/T is a visual feast featuring world class contemporary art exhibitions, unique pop-up shopping, waitresses in maid costumes and other wonders too numerous to name. Besides being the best teahouse in Los Angles Royal/T continues to reinvent the definition of cafe. I've been there for breakfast, lucy, dinner, hi-tea, Jazz, Japanese films, special dining events and many great art openings. I can't think of another cafe offering suc... read more

A Royal Rip-off! Watch Out. Royal T, a Royal Rip-off! Be careful to check your bill! The staff added an 18% gratuity to our bill without telling us. We then left a 20% gratuity on top of this. When I called to straighten it out, they told me they wouldn't correct the situation. Is this any way to run a business. Unique space with bad business practices. Watch out!

Royal/T Cafe is fun Okay, this is a very different place, BUT if you are inspired by waitresses in mini-dresses and high heels, check it out. Definitely for the artsy folks. I don't get full off the food/menu items, but you must remember it's a tea house. The tea/cofffee was pretty good. It's fun to look at the art pieces. The architecture is phenomenal.

Royal/T is more than a cafe Royal T is much more than a cafe. It is inspired by the Japanese sub-culture of Maid cafes where waitresses dress up as French maids. The food is very good, but the art is equally good if not better. The art is displayed behind plexiglass walls allowing the art to be in close proximity to the guests while eating. The architects did an excellent job of combining the cafe and the gallery in an interactive manner.

Cool place for a drink – I like this place a lot, it's fun to buy a drink and browse. Lots of fun, cool art to see. It's a beautiful space. Everyone who has visited the space with me, enters and says, "wow". They have their own parking lot behind the building - which makes live easy. Only wish they stayed open later than 9pm.

Nice atmosphere The atmosphere of this unique cafe is great. The food wasn't the greatest and may be on the pricey side based on the portions. However the art around the cafe was very cool to look at (:

unique The waitresses are cute little Asian girls in these French maid costumes! It's so cute! And the food is a little price-y but still really good. And they have the BEST English Breakfast tea I've tasted in this area. And the whole cafe is inside this museum with weird, unique art which is pretty awesome. But, by far, the best part is the random "Porto Party" room in the back of the cafe. It's shaped like a porto-potty but inside is a disco ball with an ipod playing continuous 80's music. So cool!

Citysearch Editorial Review – Based on Japan's popular cosplay cafes, where servers dressed up like mischievous French maids to indulge customers' every whim, this quirky eatery is a roller coaster of shapes and colors. The 10,000-square-foot space is actually part of a contemporary pop-art gallery, throughout which various lounging spaces have been arranged. In the main area, an irresistibly huggable, six-foot stuffed "monster" (by uber-famous artist Takashi Murakami) overlooks simple white-topped tables and black chairs--p... read more

themed tea – this art space/cafe has got its themes going on. for the art space, it is definitely japanese inspired. as for the cafe.... well, it is a tea house with salads and other snackies sold. but the main schtick are the servers (all asian females) wearing french maid outfits. it is nice and novel. the servers were nice when we were there. i think the whole schtick would have gotten old fast if they weren't nice. but it all worked out. as for the food and tea, they were fine. they didn't stand out but i would go at lea... read more
