once watched a man with dementia wander out of the A&E waiting room and then a nurse show up 10 minutes later asking anyone if we’d seen him.

Went to visit someone at Preston Hospital, what a dire, disorganised and uncaring place. A&E looked like a warzone, people in filthy corridors on trollies. They are trying to send the patient home who is clearly unwell and has had no real assesment. The patient asked a nurse for a drink of water twice, no one brought them one so went and got one myself. The patient was in severe pain all night and no pain relief was given. The patient had soiled themselves and they had not been washed or showered. The staffs attitude is mixe... read more

Just own experiences. Slamming doors in OAP's faces? Lying about "5 minutes"? Discrimination of disabled people? Conflating an unrelated symptom the patient didn't mention upon admission, with their current concerns, via their health record? Suggesting a patient has a serious condition, when they don't, that then leads to that patient technically being discriminated against, even though they're not of X group? Was admitted to ward 4 from SAU. Brilliant experience from start to finish. Medication given on time. Painkillers given when requested. Food not too bad. Given information as it became available ie: blood & scan results. Nurse where clean & tidy & where attentive. HCA's washed & looked after the patients & attended to their needs with care & compassion. The whole ward showed that they worked as a team. Thanks to Raby & Jenny in particular. Communication from the surgical consultants could be better. I had to google my condit... read more
