When the management changed from super eight to the Royal Inn, the service and staff was excellent. The upgrades were good for the price that you paid. When it was bought out and the name changed from the Royal Inn, they raised the prices, with Motel 6, quality furniture, no drawers, again Motel 6 Quality yet they are charging more than the Hilton Garden Inn in Sandy, which is a high-quality hotel for less. Until their price is fall drastically, I will never go there again.

I booked one night at the Royal Inn near the Salt Lake City airport (check‑in May 3, 2025, check‑out the next morning). At checkout they asked only for my room number, said everything was good, and promised to email my receipt “in a few minutes.” Hours later—already back home in Denver by noon the same day—I discovered my card had been charged for two nights. WARNING!! THIS HOTEL LOOKS ABANDONED. This hotel is torn apart. We arrived at 3:15 and it looked empty. There was a crane in the parking lot, the pool is full of boxes, stuff is piled in all the rooms. We assumed we were at the wrong place. I drove away and put the address in again. It was the right place. Still the doors wide open, garbage everywhere and no one at the front desk. Now it is 4. I call booking.com and wait 20 minutes. Management does not conduct business with integrity. We arrived at almost midnight to a hotel completely under construction. No pool. No gym. No lobby. No breakfast. We called other nearby hotels that we could walk to. But we were stuck by that hour. There was a smoke detector beeping all night. There was no door handle on our bathroom door.
