Cole Greer at Royal Gorge Anglers not only checks all the boxes for what you expect from a fishing guide, he’s engaging, sharp, and just plain fun to fish with. We quickly found trout and Cole’s flies got them to eat. This was only a half day walk wade on the Ark, but I nymphed, threw a streamer and, most productively, fished hopper-dropper. Cole showed me where to connect with trout in water I would have overlooked and that’s coming from a flyrodder with 50+ years experience. I’d rate him as outstanding!
I did a half day fly fishing guided trip on the Arkansas River freestone section by Cañon City, and I could not have been more happy with the experience. My guide, Trent, showed this beginner the basics of fly casting, how to read the river, match the hatch, set the hook and net a fish. I caught several fish and hooked several more.
