We have a family member currently in care at the Royal Ed . On behalf of my family I feel compelled to commend the medical/ care team for their professionalism, care and compassion of our loved one . This also extends to the kindness and attention they give to us whilst on visits . The layout of the wards is so well designed, with central courtyard gardens ensuring access to fresh air and a perceived sense of freedom ( so important for the residents) . Spent 2 stays in this establishment. The consultant psychiatrist I seen on my 2nd stay was very insensitive and condescending but other than that was a better experience than a 2 week stay at an all inclusive hotel at Tenerife and I hope to be back.

Hospital broke my confidentiality, lied to me and lied to the ombudsman to avoid getting in trouble. I lost a year of my life because of their negligence. Enter with caution.

Had most tramatic experience imaginable and was in tears. Forced to take anti psychotics which just made much much worse. As misdiagnosis,as dont and have never worked. And not open to my ideas or opinions. Doesnt matter whst u say. Feel like traumatised guinea pig. Cant even give a good enough reason. Done so much damage, feel need to leave country for own wellbeing. Disgusting treatment. Some of staff are amazing,but have no say whatsoever. Anyone ever met disagrees/disagreed.
