Our lunch at The Roadhouse was a standout experience on the mountain. We had the 4-course dinner here. In addition, we had the fondue and 1 glass of wine. Our total with tip for the 2 of us was $400. We thought the fondue was a $20-ish upgrade, but the bill came and it was $44 for the 2 of us. Now that I got that out of the way, the food was very good. Very conflicted writing this because the service and atmosphere at this place is absolutely top notch. But in the flip side, it was probably the worst steak I've ever had. I went with medium rare so it was not over cooked. It was essentially 4 slices and the 2 interior ones were fine -- the ends though -- pure shoe leather gristle. Same deal with my brother in law's too so not a fluke. Why not just get a filet and charge accordingly:(. Why go with a sub par cut and disappoint. I'd come back for drinks but that's it.
Everything about our dining experience was top notch. From booking our reservation, the gondola ride, the locale and setting, staff, stunning views... and of course, the food and beverages. Without a doubt the best fondue we've ever had! Thanks for making this such a wonderful experience! P.S. Your reservation includes the gondola ride - recommend showing up 15 minutes early to park and ride the gondola up, to make your reservation on time.
