Rough Track Cabins is a rare gem. Manda and Julie have created a playful, comfortable, sustainable and beautiful space to experience their stunning bush property and the many local delights of the Blue Mountains. The accomodation and service at RTC is deeply thoughtful, gentle and warm - it is a very special and beautiful experience to stay there. Lovely cabin filled with beautiful, inspiring artwork by the owner. Fantastic wild and secluded location with incredible views just a short walk away and close to great walks and the cafes and antique shops of Blackheath. Lots of wild birds, an outdoor bathtub and cloth stash for spontaneous craft projects. My perfect getaway! Very friendly and helpful owners/hosts. Perfect for a few days away, recharge and refill, highly recommend!
We spent a month traveling all over Australia, staying in probably 10 different accommodations, some quite nice, but Rough Track Cabins was the far highlight. The location, surrounded by trees, and natural lands, and easily walkable to the national park trailheads, is remarkable, hard even to describe how private and wild it feels. The cabin itself is a cozy respite, like a hobbit's home meets an art gallery, with Julie's incredible handwork everywhere from curtains to tiles to paintings. We loved our stay at Rough Track cabins. It was the perfect recharge, surrounded by nature and creativity. Manda has thought of all the little things that make a difference, a thermos to take your morning coffee to the view, salts for the outdoor bath, a fire set to go in the hearth if you need it, good books, games, and stitching kits to calm a busy mind. All optional, all lovely. The cabins are filled with the works of artist and textile designer Julie Patterson, it inspires and delights. I'll be back!
A Long Weekend is too short a stay at this fabulous mountain bush retreat. You need at least a week in this world heritage listed wilderness.
