Possibly the most useless public office in all of Ohio. Getting my water set up was the most difficult task of my entire life. Every time I went to the agency people were just sitting around on their asses. Time got away from me and I forgot to pay my bill through the holiday season (don't use a lot of water on the farm in the winter months). Kinda out of sight out of mind. Over 2 years after I sold my house, suddenly I have a past due bill from here. This is just a money grab and company is saying they changed out the meters and updated the system. I’ve moved several times and I always call to make sure I am paid up at all utility companies. Also, they had all my information such as email, phone, and my mail was on forwarding and I never received anything until now. The bill date is 5/02/2024! Downright ridiculous! Paid my bill, the amount they required, had to borrow it, but I got it paid! Got confirmation and approved, awesome made it! But No, later in the day, No water! I called what the heck, I said I paid it. This is is what they said to me ' It was to be paid by 9 am, you paid it at 9:25 am' Then they tell me 132.00 + 100 reconnect fee! That's OUTRAGEOUS! I went from wanting 60.00 to 132.00 + 100? Need I really say what I'd like to say?

Awful customer service; which is probably to be expected from a utility with no competition. When I became a customer, it was at a new address which required a new meter installation. This was quite expensive, but I'm sure costly on their part as well. Each month, my bill was the minimum payment because my household never exceeded the minimum 1,500 gallons. This is because my household is very frugal with water use; we do not like waste. Apparently Ross County water didn't appreciate this and assumed my meter must be reading... read more
