I normally use the Northbrook office but they were booked so I used Niles instead. I had my last exam 6 years ago and this office made the whole experience easy, quick, and painless. I was very impressed that they squeezed me in last minute and got me in and out so quickly. No high pressure sales at all!!

AVOID IF YOU ARE SEEKING LASIK THROUGH COUNTYCARE INSURANCE First the positives. The office is very clean, all of the people I interacted with during my exam were professional, and overall the visit ran smoothly. They are a fine office if you are looking for a place to get your annual eye exam, refills on your contacts, or new glasses. They also offer Lasik but I can't speak to that process except as below. Prior before coming here a few years ago, I had been seeing my eye doctor for almost 20 years. I never strayed from him because when I did, I felt like no one quite “understood” my eyes like he did. He had moved all the way to Vernon hills, and did not accept my insurance so it became tedious to have to drive out there either for an appointment or if I needed contacts. The optometrist was fantastic — no complaints there. My issue is with the billing process. I wasn’t informed at the time of my exam that my insurance wouldn’t cover the visit for another week. To make it worse, I had received an email prompting me to schedule the appointment, which implied it was a covered service. I ended up paying $85 out of pocket with zero warning.
