I always start with the positives but there are no positives here. Was admitted to a ward after having an extended seizure as I have epilepsy. I was admitted to the ward a few times for extended seizures and because I can't remember what happened because of the seizure I can't comment on the ED for these except for a few times, where I had to lay on the trolley for up to 12 hours. I went to emergency today with a knee injury. The intake staff and nurses were lovely, had an X-ray, saw an absolutely wonderful Doctor who explained what he thought was the problem, a script for anti-inflammatories and back home within a couple of hours. The Government should be spending money on this wonderful hospital that is a real asset to the community. With more than a 30 minute drive to Frankston, this hospital needs to be able to meet the demands of the community by offering all services. The health of the populatio... read more

Incredibly inefficient emergency room. We just needed a tetanus shot but decided to go elsewhere after waiting 20 minutes to get told it would be a long wait. Even the queue for triage was long and inefficient. Not one person moved through the waiting room in the time that we were there. Triage nurses were taking a break in between each patient. Arrived early last Sunday with a food blockage in my system which refused to go down and could not be brought up, despite many efforts! Admitting staff were courteous and efficient as were nurses who should be awarded for their patience and compassion to an old bloke with food stuck in his middle chest area!
