My daughter was there for 70 days and the staff treated her with great care. She bonded with her counselor and enjoyed the activities. She loved the horses and other animals on site as well. The family weekend was amazing! I highly recommend Roots!

4 years ago my mom sent me to roots renewal ranch. I was 15 years old and was the 3rd ever patient. struggling with substance and mental health. I’m now almost 20 years old. Roots gave me a new experience. A huge difference from in patient or an outpatient clinic. Roots felt like a home. I want to start this review with a couple facts.... our daughter goes by he/him and has chosen a gender neutral name to go by, while this isnt something we like or necessarily agree with, we did A LOT of research on the subject and discovered that the best approach for her mental health was to respect her choice so around her we use he/him, the chosen name and i am her biggest supporter. Hi! Our daughter was there over the summer. Before, during, and after her time there, the approach was not to address the trauma she came in with. They did, against our wishes, affirm our daughter's gender confusion and ignored our repeated requests to approach and identify her trauma. Her medications were too high, per the manufacturer, and created issues like a possible serotonin syndrome. Her counseling was dismissive of our requests as parents. The food was good though.
