I made an appointment with Zocdoc, I showed up to the appointment then lady at the front desk says she doesn’t take my insurance and asked if I’d like to cancel the appointment I made instead. Even though on Zocdoc they confirmed they took my insurance. After traveling two hours from New Jersey I agreed to cancel the appointment. Now I am being charged with a $75 no show fee. They are unorganized and scammers.
I had an awful experience with Dr. Bakal. He sat me in a room with my girlfriend and he was very rude to us; I can't say he was homophobic, but it seemed that way. He didn't want to do any tests on me. I left the room crying after he told me there's nothing to do for chronic utis and since i'm a healthy young girl i will just grow out of it. I said maybe I have interstitial cystitis? He said that it is rare. Being rare and impossible are 2 different things. I came for answers and he didn't want to help in any way.
Patients with mobility issues or dementia are not accomodated! Dr. Bakal's office may not be well-equipped for patients with mobility limitations. I recently made a urology appointment for my elderly mother, who has Alzheimer's disease, to see Dr. Bakal. Her home health aide was present to assist. Unfortunately, the office was unable to provide a catheter or a collection receptacle for a urine sample, which would have made the process much easier for my mother. Had a really great experience with Dr Bakal. Very effective, and on top of his game.
GO AWAY !!!!!! After making an appointment online for a televisit appointment, the staff office requested more information, they were very rude on the phone. The office did not want to confirm if it was in-network and required me to check with my insurance. It does not make sense as they are supposed to do this work with the insurance to confirm eligibility and co-pay amount payment.
