I had a problem with that worthless piece of plastic connected to my front bumper that frequently ends up hanging down and dragging on the road. With snow coming, it will rip my bumper off. I asked if they could remove it for me. In the process it was determined that it kept the plastic wheel well liners in place. They offered to use bailing wire to stabilize all the remaining plastic parts. That's exactly what I would do! It's a backyard/redneck kind of a fix that's very practical.
