About halfway up the Gunflint trail you'll find Rockwood Lodge and Outfitters perched alongside Poplar Lake. From the outfitting shack you look out across a gorgeous section on water and a lake that offers three entry points. One of which is quite accessible and two which are longer portages in to the BWCA. This is my second time up to the lodge/resort with 3 of the same friends as last year. We stayed in a different "cabin" than last time, which was a good move. We were more people last year. It was a friend reunion trip with visits to various artist settings along the super cool art crawl.

We rented a bunkhouse room as well as a canoe and some gear for our BWCAW canoe trip. The bunkhouse was just what we needed to check and re-pack our stuff before starting our paddle the next morning. I was really impressed with the website and the selection of canoes available for rent and was able to select a boat that was perfect for our needs.
