Matt (owner) and Wayne (the miner) were both absolute gems! Wayne assisted us while we did our mining and broke down all the rocks into their mineral forms and composites! He named everything we found and told us the ‘to date’ use of their mineral or composites! A wealth of knowledge. This is more than a buy a bucket and have fun kind of gem place!!!! Wonderful, friendly staff, wide variety, and great prices!
This was a wonderful memory to make with 2 of our grandchildren. We took the advice and purchased a family pack. I wish I had photos of the booty to share here. The two large buckets and one kids bucket included in the deal held so many treasures that we left with sacks to investigate for days. The staff was patient, friendly, and extraordinarily knowledgeable. Just a pleasant way to spend a couple hours. Thank you.
My family and I have been to several gem mines around the area and this is by far the best one I have ever been to. We will probably never go to a different one again. They exceeded our expections and we will never be able to settle for less again. We just stopped by here based on the area we were in at the time. Thinking it'd be the typical pay for a bucket, get a couple cool gems, bag em and get the little cardboard flyer with pictures of gems and try to figure out what we have but never really knowing. Best gem mining experience! We have been to several gem mines but never to one where you get a detailed explanation of each gem, including chemical make up (yes, a chemistry lesson)! The gems are lovely as well!
