Dr. Scaccia is the vet to see if your dog has difficult medical issues. She treated our beloved Old English Sheepdog Toby for his diabetes. He was a difficult case because he was somewhat insulin resistant but we were able to manage the disease for years with Dr. Scaccia's help. For anyone who is concerned about the cost of veterinary care which is expensive wherever you go, consider pet insurance. I've been bring my cats (15 years) and dog (9 years) to this vet clinic. While I've never had any problems, I do have to say that since the new owners have taken over in December 2015 we have been exceptionally pleased with the level of care they provide my pet family. We have had surgery on both my cat and dog (dog has an aggressive cancer) and we amazed at how well both were managed. The level of care seems OK, their prices are astronomical. We have heard multiple horror stories about enormous unexpected bills being presented. They seem to specialize in very expensive tooth extraction. If the sky's the limit for your Precious then this might be the vet for you. If some level of sanity is expected head up the street to Forest Hill.
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Scaccia. She has taken care of our (3) dogs for several years now. All of them are "Special Needs" including: IVDD, thyroid, Meningitis, and diabetes. Yes, we see her A LOT. When we first came to her my Chihuahua was in poor health; he had just been diagnosed with diabetes. We wasted a lot of money and heartache over 5 years before realizing this clinic is absolutely incompetent, dismissive and overly expensive. As dog owners we tend to accept and overlook isolated mistakes but Rock Spring's final one with us was fatal. Please go elsewhere. Your dogs deserve better.
