Excellent with kids, not so good with cosmetic repairs Dr. Willard's office is wonderful for young children who are scared of the dentist. Our local dentist referred my son after he had a bad experience at her office and clammed up, refusing further treatment. Dr. Willard's staff would tell stories, use puppets, and all kinds of fun, innovative approaches to distract my son and daughter while the Dr. examined, cleaned, and worked on their teeth. Dr. Willard and his staff are the best! My daughter's first dentist appointment at age 2 1/2 was with another pediatric dentist who didn't allow parents to come back to the exam room, and who scolded my daughter for being scared and crying. OMGosh! My daughter was seen by another pediatric dentist in Springfield because her Pediatrician felt there was a problem. The lady strapped her down and she screamed with terror the entire visit. We were told she needed multiple root canals, extractions, capping, etc. It was the most awful experience ever in my life! Brian Cross, DDS a friend of my boss, recommended Dr. Willard. Excellent I began going to Dr. Willard at the age of 26 months. The story is that he was the only dentist that I would allow to come near me! Dr. Willard is very friendly. He is a pediatric dentist, and also sees individuals with special needs. Dr. Willard is excellent with his patient, and always engages in some type of conversation to help the patient forget for a moment that they are in a dental chair!
