I'm so glad I got an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him to everyone.
dr robert mckenna saved my life. when other doctors said to wait, he went right in, knowing exactly what that insignificant spot was. simply the best thoracic surgeon anywhere. trust your life to him
There are not enough words to express my gratitude to this gifted, caring and talented surgeon. He saved my life 19 years ago by removing a lobe of my lung and after a recurrence has now removed the entire lung. I felt in the absolute best of hands and all of his staff are wonderful.. my recovery has been easy and he will always be my hero
I am honored to be able to express my feelings of gratitude for Dr. Robert McKenna. In my search for the best thoracic surgeon, he was recommended by many physicians and surgeons around the country. In every conversation his name always came up as the best. Because of his expertise and use of the minimally invasive technique for removal of adenocarcinoma, I was able to resume my life as it had been in the shortest amount of time. He coordinated my surgery with other specialists to prevent possible complications from other he... read more
I recently received a frightening diagnosis of lung cancer. My doctor referred me to Dr. Robert J McKenna at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. At our first consultation direct and to the point, yet very calming and put my mind at ease. He scheduled my surgery for the following week which went flawlessly; and now I am cancer free. The care that he and his team arranged for me was truly unbelievable. He is not only in the top echelon of surgeons, but also the top echelon of human beings. I thank God every day that I found h... read more
There is no doubt that DR McKenna saved my life. He removed the upper lobe of my right lung that was resting on my esophagus after I had had 33 radiation treatments and 6 months of Chemo. No one else would have or had the technical ability to do that. As well he got me in within a week of meeting me and checking my Limp nodes. He may very well be the best lung surgeon in the world. My oncologist that may also be the best in his field was in AH if Dr McKenna's surgical abilities.
Dr. Robert J. McKenna is absolutely the TOP thoracic surgeon in the world. He is brilliant and very caring to his patients. He truly has his patient's best interest in mind with every decision he makes. He saved my life 9 years ago. I sought out three doctors before learning about Dr. McKenna. I am cancer free and have been for 9 years. You owe it to yourself to consult with him.
Dr. McKenna is a wonderful doctor. As a patient of Memorial Sloan Kettering for many years I was blessed to find him here in Ali's Angeles. He is so very kind as is his staff and the level of care and his expertise is the very best. I also want to mention St. John's Hospital as I have never before received such incredible attention, understanding and quality of treatment and follow up. I was very nervous not returning to MSKCC and I have found the same level of excellwnce here. Thank you.
Dr. McKenna performed what should have been a simple operation. I had one nodule in my lung and it should have been a simple operation to remove it. Instead he screwed it up so badly that I now have multiple nodules where he dropped debris during the operation and he didn't even remove all of the original nodule, so that it has come back too. As a result it is unlikely that I will live very long. There is no further treatment available as a result of Dr. McKenna's ineptitude.
