He doesn’t prepare, referred to my visit as the “second time he’d ever seen me” though I’d been going there for 3 years. He doesn’t listen and dismisses concerns. He held my hand inappropriately after I asked him not to. He kept me waiting for over an hour, while I was have a reaction, then proceeded to overstep his authority and diagnose outside his expertise - which could have been life threatening for me. The clinic is dirty and still has doctors listed who aren’t affiliated to the practice.
Dr. McDermott is professional, personable & goes the "extra mile". After over 2 years of seeing many different doctors, specialists, hospital visits,lab works, MRI's & Cat scans & etc, He tapped into my husbands problems & concerns immediately without any hassitation whatsoever! He made personal telephone calls to Dr. Thornton, the Neurologist in GWS, to urgently try & get my husband in & seen by him. Dr. McDermott gave us his personal cell number. Dr. McDermott is a fantastic and caring practitioner! He spent a lot of time to understanding my history holistically, and he was very thorough in a range of follow-up tests to ensure we get answers to a range of unrelated issues. Beyond prioritizing treatment, Dr. McDermott has been very dedicated to identifying a cause and continues to work with me to figure this out. I was very impressed with the level of care, communication and visit documentation during my visit.
He is always so attentive and really listens to what you have to say and how you feel! He always goes out of his way to help solve whatever issues you may have.
Prescribed my son a medication with a BLACK BOX warning that has proven to result in 'completed suicides' in adolescents. That information was not provided to me by Dr Robert McDermott. My son had an adverse reaction to the medication. When I reported this to Dr Robert McDermott, he shrugged and did not care.
