John T. Batson and Richard H. Himes started what is now the firm of Batson, Himes, Norvell & Poe in 1954. Since that time, the firm has designed a large percentage of the residential developments for the major developers in Knox County, along with many industrial developments in the area as well. Upon the retirement of Mr. Batson in 1987 and Mr. Himes in 1991, the firm became a joint partnership of Gary F. Norvell and David M. Poe. Both are registered engineers and land surveyors in the State of Tennessee.
