Dr Darnell and his staff arrived at the hospital before 5:00am Sunday before Memorial Day. I had a perforated colon and sepsis and needed emergency surgery. He and his staff came in on their day off before Memorial Day and saved my life. I am truly thankful to God for putting him and his staff in my life at that moment, humbled and forever grateful to him and his staff.
Not a very professional staff. I would highly recommend a real general surgeon. Is staff talks about other doctors poorly in same building. Waste of my time for sure. Good luck
Dr. Darnell discharged me after an appendectomy. I attempted to ask question about how to care for my incisions, symptoms to look out for, and he was entirely dismissive. He discharged me without a prescription for an oral antibiotic despite the fact that my surgeon, his partner, wanted me to stay in the hospital an additional day on IV antibiotics due to my appendix having perforated prior to surgery. He was very brief when he came out of surgery to discuss how the surgery went. I would’ve appreciated more details regarding the surgery. Also the post operative pain wasn’t controlled when I got to the recovery room.
Dr.Darnell has a poor bedside manner. He did not complete a full exam either visual or actual so the information in my chart is very inaccurate. He would and did not complete a physical exam. He was rude an impatient. He told me the risk of surgery and possible options, without a physical exam. When I stated, can you examine and state what you think would be the best option, he stated " I can't pick the items off the menu for you." I was floored, the assistant in the room was floored.

I have had Massive hernia surgeries over the years by Dr Darnell .My last surgery from Dr Darnell was a bowel obstruction! If not for the grace of God and the God given talent he has I would not be here today !! My wife Connie and I (JD ) are truly blessed !! Thank You
I'm very satisfied with the outcome of my procedure and appreciate the care and treatment that I received from dr. Darnell, he's very honest and I believe that everyone may not wanna here the truth but he gives it. Thank you for making me feel better in a very timely fashion....
He botched my appendectomy and my recovery ending up being four days. Then an infection developed inside of my belly and I've been in the hospital for another. Rude and completely evasive about questions I had for him. Would only come in and see me around 6 or 7 am while I was still in a painkiller haze, then practically sprint out of the room as I got coherent. Would keep me in the hospital for days at a time with absolute minimal discussion. Appeared to be hiding something from me.
