I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Robert Berg and his entire staff. From my very first appointment, I felt that I was in caring and extremely capable hands. I had a rare and complicated condition that ultimately required a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Dr Berg is an excellent surgeon and I was able to swim within 2.5 weeks. He didn’t do a physical exam. He said he could “clip here or clip there” that “he didn’t care and I could let him know last minute” and never mentioned Surgical Menopause, which maybe seems obvious, but I had never heard of it. He then shrugged when I asked about hormone replacement, after he had removed my healthy (I saw in my pathology report) ovaries. Dr. Berg is an amazing, experienced doctor who's well respected at NYU. I was so lucky he took me on as a patient late in my first pregnancy when other doctors wouldn't. He delivered both of my babies, and funny enough, I ended up naming my firstborn after his middle name completely by coincidence. He also inserted my IUD COMPLETELY PAINLESSLY. I couldn't believe it. He's curt and no BS, straight to the point, which I actually appreciate. Dr. Berg is a total godsend. Hands of gold.
Dr. Berg saved my life last year when I experienced an ectopic pregnancy and needed emergency surgery. I love him and owe him my life. He is a good doctor and a good surgeon.
The doctor was not prompt or did not make the effort to explain me the problem or the underlying issues of my condition. I had to ask a thousand questions to get the full picture. Dr. Berg also falsely claimed that there were no side effects to taking the medication he had prescribed which was far from truth. Besides this, he did not send the prescription to the pharmacy for a week post visit which caused insane anxiety and health problems since I had to be on medication to treat my symptoms. I wouldn’t visit him again.
