Dr. Duerr is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I came to him when i started having pain in my knee going up to my lower back after having my son. Other doctors i’ve seen before brushed me off, told me to wear a brace, lose weight, take tylenol and ignored my concerns, pain and struggles. I saw him and he immediately ordered an MRI and scheduled a scope surgery to be done to see if i needed anything repaired or replaced all within a month. Dr. Duerr was excellent in explaining surgical plans ( torn rotator cuff) and expected post surgery objective. I was given a schedule of post surgical instructions which included PT exercises to be performed. I was able to know what the physical therapist would be doing and the time frame expected. My surgery went well and I healed without no complications. Follow up with his PA, A. Patterson was always informative and if I had any concerns it was relayed to Dr. Duerr. I visited Dr. Duerr in the fall of 2025 after a shoulder injury, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care I received. He walked me through clear recovery options, and I appreciated how thorough and easy-to-understand his guidance was throughout the process. I tried conservative steps first (including a cortisone shot and physical therapy) and ultimately had a biceps tenodesis surgery. Wonderful treatment at Mercy South and Dr Duerr was great. Hospital was great. I’ve had 4 surgeries on this shoulder and this was so much easiest of them all.
I had a torn rotator cuff and wasn't able to move my arm backwards. Dr. Duerr did surgery back in November and I'm happy to say my arm is feeling great. Dr. Duerr discussed the procedure with me and answered all of my questions prior to the surgery. In the beginning I really was wondering if I'd ever get the full use of my arm and the strength back, but I feel like I'm fully recovered from the surgery.
