BUYER BEWARE. We experienced opaque, inflated billing. We hired Omar's team to review documents we'd prepared. RLB's engagement letter quoted hourly rates for partners and non-partners. But do these rates have any meaning? RLB had a non-partner handle our simple case, then gave us a large bill equivalent to 13.8 such hours. We have used RLB for 2 seasons now for both our personal which includes hst and for our corporate accounting. Our first year we received a bill for over $4200.00 and were a little shocked at the sticker price on that but were told that the inital set up work was timely and a bit complicated but would yeild a lower cost going forward as all the peices were now in place for the next cycle year. I had a 15 minute discovery call with Blake De Luca. As he was referred to me from our lawyer Bill Cord. I like to have open transparent professional relationships. As such, I asked Blake what his fee structure is and what is the fee of the 15 minute discovery call. He said, there was no charge for the discovery charge but all future work would incur fees.
