We have written to the Burnaby City Council to express our concern about the light pollution caused by the large floodlights on the rooftop of this building.
Existing research indicates that harsh, glaring light can cause headaches and impair vision. More importantly, light pollution disrupts sleep architecture and shortens sleep duration. This disturbance to sleep can weaken the immune system and increase the risk of cancer. Equally concerning are the emotional issues brought on by light pollution.
For the sake of the community's well-being, PLEASE turn off the rooftop floodlight during late-night hours.
