Terrible experience here. Extremely ill informed of treatment was given multiple medications with no knowledge of what I was given. Never even met the providers who prescribed them. NEVER seek treatment at Riverside, especially here. This place was an imprisonment except they charge your insurance and you!!! My partner wasn’t even given any knowledge of the treatment that was given. The entire facility was cold and you will be given thin blankets with holes that won’t keep you warm. I don't think there is a better physical therapist in Hampton Roads than Brian Stisser. I've been to 3 other major therapy companies and they don't hold a candle to the progress he has helped me gain.
If you never have to complain to the Patient Advocacy you need to realize that they are part of this hospital and not a separate enmity. So they will simply do whatever it takes to cover their liabity and their doctors. IMO..It took me several years to finally realize the CORRUPTION.
My doctor was the nicest and most caring individual I have ever met. I suffered so many months. When I was going thru my worstest times I asked her to put me in the hospital and she would not. In the most critical time of my life she absolutely abandoned me when I needed her the most. God gives second chances I just don't understand why she won't. Patient advocate was no help either. You would think that since I am trying so hard to become a human being again that she would have greater satisfaction knowing that she made me ... read more
This place is horrible. The staff would not answer your call button and just ignore you.
My brother was a patient at Riverside Medical Center from before Labor day this year until October 12 when he passed away. During his stay he was moved to several different departments and rooms . The nurses , doctors, aides and anyone who had any contact with him were phenomenal. The care he received was as though they were treating a family member. The doctors would return phone calls. The nurses answered his call button each time he pressed it. The staff at RIverside are truly angels without wings.
Billing is terrible, manned by rude unprofessional women. Riverside always refers you to a Riverside facility. Needed a MRI, Riverside charges$2900, I had it done at an independent imaging center for$1400. Dr. care is marginal at best.
The worst care. My mom is laying as I type this in CCU still on her back for over 24 hours with a stroke and STILL no neurosurgeon to see her. She cannot take her medications for anxiety nor for pain without this doctor's examination, so she continues to lay on her back--all the family helpless and at the mercy of a doctor who may or may not show up. We were told he or she would be there last night..never showed. Now after 3pm the next next..still no show from the doctor. The only thing the CCU nurses and staff say is..well ... read more
