I had a great experience here at the Riverside Tea Rooms, I just want to make it clear the reason & the only reason for the 4* review Everything was great on my first stop, but they where waiting on a big table booking to show up.. I ordered the fish & chips, unfortunately the tabel arrived as I was waiting and my fish batter came out still mushy on the inside (could taste batter) and the chips also very undercooked. Not the best start, but we persevere... To finish I had a English Cream Tea for 1 which totally redeemed ... read more
This is a T Room/Coffee stop and lunch stop. Might do dinner, I'm not sure. However the lunch was superb (camembert and onion tart), absolutely superb. So for me, the river view is lovely and well worth a visit 😊😊😊
Wonderful terrace by the River Arun, looking across towards Houghton. Good good selection and service is quick and efficient.
We visited on a Sunday morning, reserving a table in advance and sitting by the riverside. The cafe has a small car park alongside the river. We ordered a mix of coffees and cooked breakfast including kids meals, pancakes and eggs benedict. The service was great, the prices were reasonable considering the quality, a great place to stop on the way through Amberley. There's a pleasant walk along the riverside on a footpath a short walk from the cafe too.
Lovely riverside location, limited parking, good service.
