I was referred to Joel by Rockingham Boat. I brought my boat in for an estimate, he told me I shouldnt put any money into the boat and that I should buy a refurbished motor from him for $5500. He also gave me the option to fix my steering and throttle control for $1595 told me the job would take 2-3 weeks to complete. He finished the job in 4 HOURS. I bought a used 1973 - 6 hp Evinrude outboard from here 7 years ago has run GREAT. Just brought it in for tune up and service still running GREAT. Thank you B Hooper

Finding a truly capable Johnson or Evinrude repair shop is quite a challenge. Joel at Riverside has been working on these motors for 15 years and truly specializes in these engines. I was a new customer, and he completely walked through what his plan for my 15 Hp Johnson, gave me a timeline, called me once the work was finished AND sent me a video of the the engine running. Looked at motor and said he could repair. No need to replace. Then discovered significant issues and sold me a refurbished motor. I did not complain or question. Even when asked to pay for labor on old motor that could not be fixed. No problem. Refurbished motor (which was someone else’s lemon) would regularly stall. No complaints. Brought it back.
