Beautiful timber cabins right on Thredbo River. All individually owned, some fit out in very cool modernist style. All with pretty wonderful views. Would recommend to friends and family.
Check in was easy enough - came from Sydney after work, the alpine hotel had my keys. But the guy fumbled, a lot. The thing that really lost a star was the dining chairs in our specific cabin - they were originally beige and were massively stained. I get it’s a rental. We stayed in Cabin 39 for 3 nights. The worst experience I've ever experienced. Where to start... the access to the units is extremely difficult, steep uneven terrain, rodents, large mice throughout the unit, disgusting linens, literally rodent droppings on the linen, dust all over the place, could not sleep at all and the hotel staff couldn't even find any other accommodation to get us out off there…
The free concert was fan-bloody-tastic. Sneaky was great, the venue was great, the staff were fantastic.
We stayed in cabin 43 and unfortunately the hot water system was cracked. So we had no hot water in the middle of July with a baby. There was not much help to fix it while we were there, even after reporting the issue to the information desk twice. Otherwise the accommodation would have been 4/5.
