This is not an outpatient program that truly cares about your growth. The M.H. unit just looks to prescribe medication that can be more harmful than helpful in many ways. And an associate tried getting help from there so called substance use program & that in itself needs to be completely changed of all staff. The director is definitely lost in how to approach & guide people struggling in chemical use. I started going to this place because after the death of a family member and a hospitalization due to a medical emergency. This place has been horrible. They reschedule appointments without telling me, when I have met with the psychiatrist and therapist there both of them were so inexperienced. The psychiatrist was on her deathbed and the mental health therapist was just staring at me during our session. She had nothing to say. She had just graduated college or something I think. I faced discrimination in this program from staff. They did not even try to help one bit. They tried to send me to the worse area of the Bronx for a dayhab program... I told them no I'm not going to an unsafe area.
I’m a new patient attempting to seek treatment here, unfortunately, I was never connected to anyone. Called a total of 8 times in a span of 3 days and I was never connected to intake. I first called on Friday 5/10 when the receptionist informed me Intake was gone for the day but she would forward my information over for a call back. I never received a call.
