We stayed 3 nights on the second floor. Great room and well equipped. We had the river right outside and saw Cedar Waxwings and a Baltimore Oriole each day
The River Trail Inn is a gem! Location is convenient to downtown Damascus (a short bike ride or drive away), the Creeper Trail, and the river. The inn rooms are spacious and clean, with everything you need: a refrigerator (with icemaker), stove, microwave, and a coffee pot that takes coffee grounds or a Keurig pod. It was our first time in the area and River Trail Inn did not disappoint. Quick service when inquiring about an issue and centrally location. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed my 3-night stay at The River Trail Inn Damascus in April. I am hiking the AT and had planned on taking a day off and splurging on a motel. River Trail Inn checked all the boxes: Very nice, newly updated room with a well appointed kitchenette and balcony overlooking Laurel Creek, right next door to a grocery store and walkable to downtown Damascus via the Virginia Creeper Trail.
