I've taken lessons with River Heights Music since September 2019 and found Robert Burton to be a patient, knowledgeable and well respected instructor in the Winnipeg area. I understand that Mr. Burton is known throughout the musical entertainment circles as one of the better drummers and guitarist in Winnipeg, specifically his technical expertise rises above all others.

A big thank you to the River Heights School of Music. After 15 years of studying guitar with Robert Burton I am glad to continue the life long process of training for many more years at this exceptional school.

For years I tried to teach myself to play guitar but I found I was making no progress. I decided to give lessons a try and I'm glad I did. I take lessons with Robert who is so knowledgeable not only about how to play guitar but how to read music. He breaks things down for me in a way that makes sense to a struggling beginner. I've made more progress in 2 months than I ever imagined I would. You get what you put into the lessons, so if you are determined to learn then I highly suggest giving lessons a try.

Robert is an excellent teacher. In two and a half years of his instruction I have learned far more and developed further than from any other instructors I have had in the past. His style and approach helped me become better grounded in the fundamentals -- and that's given me a sense of accomplishment I have not had in the past when it comes to learning guitar.
