Old Dog Lover The best recommendation I can give about Dr. English is that when I bring my 16 year-old rescue in for a visit I would never guess he has any other patients he cares about more than mine! He make me and my dog feel really special! No matter how sensitive the issue, he supports me and my wants and needs as well as my dogs. What a truly gifted vet!
World Class Absolutely the best! Dr. English goes beyond what you would expect from a vet. It is easy to see he loves what he does. He is a truly caring person who really takes the time to evaluate the health of your pet. In addition, he follows up on his appointments and makes himself available to provide you with the information you need to help you better care for your canine family!
English Joel Dvm - River Cove Animal Hospital is the best around! Dr. English is awesome!!! He came highly recommended to me by a friend. I took my dog there for shots and general check up. He took the time to pet and get to know my dog, did a thorough exam, and genuinely cares about the animals he treats. His prices are very reasonable, and the service is great. He will gladly field a call about a concern you have and will give you advice over the phone. It's great to find a vet that my dog likes as much as I do!

Helped us through a tough time Dr. Joel English is a truly great vet. He helped us care for our Labrador Retriever. Even when the time came to say good-bye to our friend Dr. English was very caring and loving of our pet. He made a very difficult time for us better because he obviously cared and understood how hard our decision was. A very special individual.
Cares about your pet as much as you do! I recently brought a 16-yr-old tabby cat to Dr. English for a health issue diagnosis. This veterinarian is incredibly articulate in his explanations of what may be the condition and how to resolve it. I could see his interaction with the animals also speaks volumes as to his love and enjoyment of his job. Even if the news is less than ideal, the caring manner in which it is presented makes it much easier to feel you are getting the best service this profession has to offer.

He is thorough with his exams, as well as gentle. If we call with questions, he has returned our calls the same day, even if it's after the clinic has closed for the day. We have cats and dogs, and we trust Joel completely with their care. In my opinion, there is no better vet.
