They were never open the numerous times we tried to visit, ritas is my favorite frozen custard anywhere and the 2 locations in Orlando had signs up saying closed due to the hurricane and that they would be open on Friday october 11, we were there from October 19 until November 2 and they were never open and there were no visible signs of any storm damage and all of the surrounding businesses were open. At first I was glad to arrive as their lot has parking for customers only. That is where the positive things end. We walked into an empty establishment on a weekend which seemed off because of the location but things happen I get it. Upon entering the employee was wearing slip on sandals ( definitely not food service approved) and had a demeanor like they didn’t care if we were there or not. The best time to come to this location is when they open on a day that isn't a Tuesday or Thursday. Rose is by the happiest person on the planet and insanely patient when it comes to explaining the menu, flavors and add ins. My favorite is definitely the brownie sundae and coffee but their tropical flavors when they have them in are amazing. (She's even accepted a few flavor requests for us but you need to call a day or two before so they can check if they have that flavor.)
Service is definitely non existent. I've been going to Rita for OVER 10 years and have NEVER had a bad experience until tonight. From Clearwater to Tampa to Orlando. Never once had a bad experience. The BOYS named Jr working tonight 09/21 at 7pm were non existent. Saw me walk in, the serviced a family and then we I got to the front walked away.. Smh. They do not care about their jobs. We enjoyed our ice cream and gelato. Service was non existent but that seems to be the norm now. Gentlemen at the counter did greet say word to us.
