Rooms are decorated in mexican decor. Friendly front desk staff and we were able to check into our room early.
On our way to Texas we had only planned on staying in Albuquerque one night, but decided on two to take in the Petroglyphs National Park and the 'Old Town'. This hotel is close to freeway access and just a few blocks from Old Town.
I have stayed at this Best Western off and on over the past several years when I am visiting Albuquerque and have always liked it--excellent location for walking into Old Town and for accessing I-40 and always an excellent staff. I especially compliment this hotel on placing a blue recycle basket in the guest rooms. This is the first time I have ever had this in a US hotel.
Had a light issue with the bathroom. Called front desk and was promptly fixed. The desk manager was very helpful and provided us with an excellent experience.
Had no car and used the excellent shuttle several times.very nice staff .Didnt eat in hotel so can't comment on food. ten minutes down the road you have several restaurants .I don't recommend nearby winery .Im a walker so don't mind that it's not on the plaza but there are very very few hotels in the area .Downtown is a much longer walk than this location so the Andaluz etc are a long treck .Didnt have problems with noise chose back 4th floor .Room newly refitted. There van took me to museums zoo etc and picked me up .
In the room you will find a fridge, iron/board, desk with 2 chairs, hairdryer, coffee pot and air conditioning, There is a small outdoor pool & hot tub and the hotel is within walking distance of old town.
The front desk staff during the day were always very helpful and quick to answer questions. They went out of their way and printed the best man's speech for him as the looby computers (that had printers) did not have Microsoft Word.
The hotel was very nice and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean. No free breakfast, but you do get a discount at their on site dining.
Except for people with very young children, this is definitely within walking distance of Old Town and was actually just about the right distance to walk off some of the Old Town meals we enjoyed! We did not eat at the hotel restaurant nor use the pool as we were so busy doing everything "special" about Albuquerque, including seeing the incredible number of great museums.
