Purchased a house with a ~6 year old Rinnai hot water system. System failed due to a manufacturing fault. Rinnai refused the warranty claim due to the system having been installed incorrectly. Their refusal is legally sound, but I certainly wouldn't trust their products. I also found the customer service experience unpleasant. Rinnai Air conditioning products are very bad as my brand new rinnai air conditioning stoped working in just 6 months. I claimed the warranty in 6 months I purchased but they didn't fix my rinnai air conditioning. Rinnai customer service also very poor as they always said me we will get back to you. But they never got back to me. I won't recommend anyone to purchase rinnai air conditioning.

Terrible customer service if you have an emergency. I had a Rinnai hot water system installed in a rental property I own, and it stopped working in winter when the unit was under 10 years old and still under warranty!!! The tenant was angry and demanded rent reduction. We logged a service call with Rinnai to attend and explained to them the urgency of the situation.
