My son's and I had a great time minus the rain. The water is beautiful, the hiking trails are beautiful the bathrooms are clean. It was quiet peaceful and just what we needed. Most of the campsites have sand but I would still recommend rifle river recreation if you want a nice peaceful trip in nature.

Wonderful state park. The rustic sites are large and most have a good bit of distance between them. Hand pumps are available for potable water. Vault toilets are cleaned and stocked daily. Fantastic lakes, good fishing, and lots of shade at the rustic sites. Each site has a fire pit; what more could you ask for?
