Dr. Rifkah is genuinely friendly with an excellent bedside manner, goes over things well, is very knowledgeable & helpful. Couldn't have done better in looking for a new family doctor.

I have always had a good relationship with Dr. Rifkah since I first started going to his office. His secretaries are always nice and patient. He has always treated me well and has been thorough in his diagnosis. I went in one time with chest pain at the age of 19 and being that I was in college for medical and had a bit of knowledge, I told him it was most likely stress induced anxiety pains. He agreed but wanted to make sure so I had a ekg and bloodwork before he finalized my diagnosis.
This doctor is basically just there to see patients, misdiagnose you, and then collect insurance money. That's what you're getting with Dr. Rifkah. My wife and I have been going to him for a while (since it's so difficult to find a doctor accepting patients with our insurance), and he basically blows us off every time we need care. It's always just a cold or just the flu. I had to see him 3 times to finally get him to diagnose me with pneumonia and get me the right antibiotics! Find another DR!!
Caveat emptor! This doctor will get you nowhere with his diagnosis and will waste your time and money. In October of 2014, I went to this doctor as I was having asthma-related symptoms. His first words when greeting me, 'Ah, you have what everyone else in Altoona has, the common cold!'. So I explained my issues and he sent me to UPMC for chest xrays thinking that I had pneumonia. My second trip to him I was given an inhaler. My third trip, another chest xray for pneumonia. My fourth trip, I wa
Dr. Rifkah was horrible with my 91 year old grandmother. Scaring her and telling her to be more independent...she can't be more independent than she already is. She's a very sick woman and he was so horrible with her when he saw her at the nursing home that her roommate was also crying. Needless to say, he will never go near my Grandma again!
