Rick Wenzel Oil and Heating has been excellent to work with. We initially switched our propane provider from Irving to Wenzel because we wanted to support a local company that knows the community and is easy to communicate with. They replaced our 25-year-old propane tank quickly, efficiently, and neatly. More recently, we experienced a failure with both the primary and secondary heat exchangers on our furnace. Honest reliable fuel provider.
Wenzel did a purge of our radiant heat system on one of the coldest days of the year. They froze our system and their tech left without telling us what happened and we lost heat to an entire section of the house. Wenzel then proceeded to charge me over 2k to unfreeze my system and blamed my house having a weird setup as the reason even though we never once froze in 5 years of owning the house and it happened directly after they failed to properly purge the radiant lines.
Set up an appointment for my annual cleaning and the technician shows up, cleans my boiler, and leaves. Next morning, 11 degrees outside, hop in the shower at 5 am, no hot water. Call Wenzel to complain and tech shows up about 2 pm the next day. Now I have a 300.00 plus bill for parts that worked fine before they touched my boiler We had already discussed this before I posted this review and had we come to an acceptable resoloution the review would have never been posted.
I absolutely love this family business. Everyone I’ve spoken with is honest, kind, and helpful. I ask a ton of questions, and they are just as patient and informative with the 100th question as they are with the very first. I will continue to do business with Rick Wenzel Oil Co. for as long as they’ll have me.
