Most of the five star reviews here are from 7 or so years ago. My review is from 2022. Dr Abbott insulted, lectured, and raised his voice slightly to me during our fourth session. He called me a "know it all" because I told him that I had an eating disorder nearly 20 years ago that was not a current issue that I'm dealing with. He then condescendingly lectured me about how he has been studying eating disorders since before I was born, and that he knows more about them than I do. Last year, I experienced an unexpected, traumatic situation and I needed professional help right away. I set up an appointment to see psychologist Richard M. Abbott and I started the healing process within the first session. He helped me overcome my traumatic experience and I was able to move on. I am so grateful for his knowledge, honesty, patience, as well as compassion for another human being. I have since completely recovered and have moved on with my life in a healthy manner and using the tools that he taught me.
