WENT TO B NORTH FOR PANCREATITIS AND CAME OUT WITH A DEAD HAND THAT HAD TO BE AMPUTATED. STARTED WITH PICC LINE AND B NORTH HAD NO PICC TEAM IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT SO I LAID IN ICU AS I DEVELOPED COMPARTMENT SYNDROME. 6 SURGERIES, PUNCTURED MY LUNG., ALMOST DIED FROM TOO MUCH DRUGS AND ANESTIA. SPENT 6 WEEKS IN HOSPITAL, IN NURSING HOME. I HAD NO CASE!!!!!
Now 8 years today on April 13th, I had a terrible outcome. MALPRACTICE at local hospital was dismissed as an allergic reaction of heparin. Took them 1 year to get files from hospital and statue of limitations is 1 year, had to file 6 mo extension. Went in for pancreatic issue and developed a blood clot in same arm as PICC LINE. This hospital didn't have a PICC TEAM in the middle of the night and they didn't call anybody in. Laid in ICU for 6 hours until EMERGENCY SURGERY as I developed COMPARTMENT SYNDROME.
