Dr. Derner is an exceptional clinician and outstanding surgeon. He provided great care for a challenging foot condition that required both medical care and surgical care intervention. He’s extremely professional and delivers thorough, understandable explanations. His support staff is highly efficient and patient-focused.
Had ankle replacement surgery on 5/3/2017. Three (3) months later I walking around our National Mall. After a short while, I glanced at my walking app on my phone and couldn't believe what I saw... I had walked 4 hours 27 minutes and a total of 17.7 miles!! Since 1975 when I fractured my ankle in 3 places, I was unable to walk for more than 5-10 minutes without suffering excruciating pain. Dr. Derner was exactly what I needed to get up and walking on my fractured Charcot Foot.
Had a complex re-do of what a precious Orthopedic Surgeon attempted years prior. He was confident, provided spot on care and I’m better than before! Dr Derner is excellent and I’ve already recommended him to family and friends!
Great doc! Knows his stuff and is very personable. Only downside is the long waits to see him.
Extremely friendly doctor and office staff ... been a patient for years now. Used to would have HIGHLY recommended Dr Derner but unfortunately he is so popular that his available time with each patient is way too short ... patients are now waiting 1-2 hours past their appointment time due to double-triple bookings and then the patient gets about 4-6 minutes of the doctor's time. Short time resulted in my not getting answers to problems I surfaced about my ankle. Extremely frustrating!!!
