Dr. Kozarek is a miracle worker. When I checked out of the hospital they told my husband that they gave me <10% chance of survival and my unborn child 0%. My daughter will be 20 this year. I am forever grateful to Dr. Kozarek and his colleagues for everything they did for my family.

When I told my GI in Oregon that I was moving to Seattle, he told me to look up Dr Richard Kozarek who, he said, was the best GI that he knew. When I got to Seattle and told my PCP here about my pancreatic cysts, he referred me to Dr. Kozarek. I have not been disappointed. He listens, he provides explanations that are easy to understand, and refers me to appropriate diagnostic resources. I have no problem with a 5-star rating.

I am Dr. Kozarek's complete and utter FAILURE. Along with many other "doctors" that touched me in a harmful manner, Dr. Kozarek simply perpetuated the same "treatment" onto me. I guess Medicare just isn't good enough for YOU when YOUR patient finally becomes completely disabled. Chronic Pancreatitis, Left over biopsy, chronic liver disease, blown common bile duct, blockage at Ampula of Vater, Ulcers and gastritis. 5' 7" and 109 pounds now, "doctor" Kozarek… DUH, listen to the PATIENT!

I had chronic relapsing pancreatitus following a rue-n-y surgury to remove a grapfruit cyst from my common bile duct. Over a period of roughly 15 years I had 11 procedures on my pancreas. None worked and several made things worse. We heard about Dr Kozarek and immediately booked an appt with him. Long story short he booked a operating room for 45 min and 3 1/2 hours later I was fixed!! Dr Kozarek gave me my life back. I was on heavy narcotics for those 15 years and haven't used them in 3 years.

World renowned, Dr. Kozarek has helped me through so much with his incredible expertise and an unmatched bedside manner. He invented various procedures and wrote books explaining them for other gastroenterologists, and he has traveled worldwide even to China to train other doctors. Including an hour ferry ride, I live two hours from Virginia Mason, and the travel time is beyond well worth it to have such an intelligent, personable and highly cherished gastroenterologist taking care of me.
