I am specifically referring to Dr. Mark Hofbauer, the foot and ankle specialist. He is amazing, and WVU hit a home run when they got this guy. The Wheeling area has needed a real ankle specialist for a long time, and they got a great one. He sees patients at both Wheeling and Reynolds Hospitals. I had a bad fracture with an ORIF repair of the left ankle. Don’t see anyone else for your foot or ankle problems.

He is so rude. No bedside manners at all. His PA said I needed to get down to 230 pounds for a knee replacement. Saw him and he said no. It was according to my age. He said it would be. He couldn't calculate it so I did 182. He cares more about BMI rather than how bad your knee is. Mine is very bad. He said if I weren't so fat then my legs wouldn't swell. I have leaky veins. My dear mother, Elva, is a patient of the WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department. Not only am I her daughter, I am also her companion when attending her medical appointments. She is in her eighties, and I am so impressed with the respect, and loving care that she has received while being treated there! Everyone is kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We are thoroughly pleased with the excellent treatment she has received!

I got X-rays done Dec 27 showing my foot was broken. I was referred to Dr Meyers at Reynolds orthopedics. I called the following day (dec 28). His office manager Jayla did not pick up so I left a voicemail. No call back. I ended up calling her 3 times and leaving a message each time and she never returned my call. It wasn’t until I physically went into my primary doctor and made them call her that I finally got her to answer the phone and make my appt OVER THREE WEEKS after my X-rays.
