The plumber who attended site would have been happy to take the bandaid fix if I didnt insist that they do an actual investigation into the root cause of the issue. Even after this the work they conducted was half hearted and did not fix the problem. It is okay to make mistakes, but a general attitude of not taking your customers seriously is why I wouldn't recommend Rex plumbing to anyone.
